Letters of Reference from our Clients (CONTINUED)

When our puppies and dog go to their new homes we always keep in touch to ensure that our dogs and their new families are happy and pleased with their addition. Here are some quotes from recent letters and e-mails we would like to share with you.

Sweep X Ally pup hunting at 7 months old.

Haynes,
I'm sending you a picture of our pup we got
from you. She is 7 months old now and oing great.
We hunted last weekend for doves and we limited
out each day. She never missed a bird! She hunts
like she is 7 years old versus 7 months.

Greetings, Haynes-

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say how happy I am with Tikka (Hardy x Rubie). She is everything I could have asked for and more. She is so eager to please and is a sheer joy
to own and hunt with. She obtained her NAHRA started title in the summer of 2004, running
off lead and steady each time. She will be running NAHRA intermediate and AKC Senior next summer. Attached is a picture from our recent trip to North Dakota of Tikka with a very nice pintail drake.

She also has been OFA certified for hips (GOOD) and elbows (NORMAL).

Thanks again,

Travis J. Lund

Haynes,
Just wanted to let you know how great Tucker has turned out (Craighorn Hardy x Pocklea Abba). He breezed through NAHRA Started last year and completed his NAHRA Intermediate title thisMay. He'll be gunning for his Master Hunting Retriever title the rest of the summer and I have no doubt he'll have it before hunting season starts. He's a great marker and does a wonderful job on blind retrieves, his nose is the best I've seen on a dog his age - he is extremely birdy! Also I just had his CERF and OFA done. His eyes tested normal and his hips are OFA Excellent! I have high hopes for my boy and just wanted to let you know how wonderful he is doing.

Here's a pic of my handsome hound - TTF CAS-HI NEVER TUCKER OUT.

Haynes,
Just wanted to update you on Tucker's successful hunt test season. He has achieved his NAHRA Master Hunting Retriever title and is doing absolutely fantastic work. I couldn't be any happier with my boy!

Hi Haynes…

I just had to share these recent pictures with you. At 6-months old, Cutty breezed through his second Started pass. We had a professional photographer on hand and here are a couple of pictures of Cutty “show’n his stuff”. He’s totally fearless and does some terrific “big air”.

He’ll be 8-months old the 21st of this month and is doing triple marks (100+ yards) and just about has hand signals down pat. He never breaks and handles diversions like a pro. Damn this dog is good! I can’t wait for hunt tests to start up again. Meantime he’ll be going to theblind with me for some of the “real stuff”.

Haynes…

Just thought I’d let you know that this Craighorn Bracken x Dargdaffin Red Sunlight pup of mine is OUTSTANDING! He’s 5-months old now and all he wants to do is train. I’m going to take him to the West Tennessee hunt test in October and run him in started class just to give him a little experience. He’s already healing and sits to the whistle and is great on marks. He’s one smart pup and a gorgeous fox red to boot. I’ll try and send some pictures later. If you need a reference from a VERY satisfied buyer… just send them to me. I’m sold on these British Labs.

and another from Mr. Boggess:

Hi Haynes…

Hope you’ve had a good year and all is going well for you. I was wondering if you had any plans for a repeat breeding of “Ruby” to “Bracken”? This little pup of mine has really impressed a bunch of people. He’s 6-months old now and heals to the line, holds steady on marks, nails doubles, and holds for delivery to hand. He has not been force-fetched and I’m really going to try to avoid forcing if possible. He just seems to have the desire without having to be forced. He loves to train and prefers bumpers, dokkens, and ducks to puppy play. When he’s not training, he’s very laid back and calm… but pull out a bumper and he’s “wired”. You couldn’t ask for a better combination of traits.

He lives in the house at night and has never bothered anything. I think he pooped/peed in the house twice when he was a very small pup… but two corrections and he’s never done it again. I’m telling you… he’s the type of dog that every trainer/handler/owner dreams of. He aced his first started test at 5-months old and will run his second “boring” started test this weekend. I plan to have him ready to run seasoned well before spring hunt tests begin. Although I’ve got an outstanding 2 ½ year old black male that earned his HRCH title last spring, I really think this little fox-red pup of mine will be the one I eventually take beyond HRCH. He’s one helluva retriever and I’m extremely happy with my “TTF Scotch N Water”, call name “Cutty”.

Below are a few recent pics. I though you might like to see yet another outstanding “Bracken” pup.

Regards…

Haynes,

This is long overdue. I purchased Bob from you last February (Jake and Amber breeding). At a year old has become a veteran campainer of pheasant. I really had planned on going easy with him this first year, but he picked up the game so quickly and naturally that neither he nor I can get enough of it.

Bob is, in short, perfect. He still has alot to learn about the ways of the ringneck, but aside from being a rookie he has put up more birds, retrieved flawlessly, and been a true gentleman in the field and at home. His only fault (idiosynchrosy) is when we hunt one of our favorite quail coverts that also is residence of a jack rabbit and a couple of deer, he takes pleasure in a short chase. Doesn't happen anywhere else, just this one spot.

We haven't been out after ducks this year so really no chance to comment on his playing of that game, but he I can't imagine that he would have any trouble adapting. He has a passion for swimming and is biddable enough to sit patiently at my side.

In the span of a year, Bob has become a favorite companion, well, next to my wife. He has become a true partner in the field. Never do I get a sense that he is hunting for just himself - he has found that blend of independence and cooperation with me in the field. He is relentless on the hunt and will dive into the thickest of cover and bramble patches without hesitation. Stamina to go all day.

Have I sung enough praises? Just want to let all of you at Double TT know - great job and thanks. After this hunting season we'll actually try our hand on some formal training. Right now we're just having too much fun.

Dear Haynes,

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for the professional service, and gracious hospitality you extended when I came down to pick up a pup from the Jake/ Ellie litter in September 2003.

I did a considerable amount of research before deciding on a breeder/ kennel, and I am happy that I decided to purchase a pup from Double T British Kennels. I was very impressed with your professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service. You gave me a tour of your kennel, helped me with the selection process, and made me feel more like a friend than a customer.

I was so impressed with your dog "Jake" that the registered name I plan on giving the pup is "TTF Wiscombe Jake's Mark" in honor of his father's legacy. I call him "Jake" for short. He truly is an amazing puppy, and we spend a lot of time together.

When he was seven-weeks old, I took him on his first walk through the woods. We went to the back of a five acre pine forest, where there were no trails. He was off lead and when it was time to head back, he put his nose to the ground and with his tail in the air, led us out retracing the exact winding path we had followed in.

At eleven-weeks old, he has learned to consistently sit and return on verbal and whistle commands both on and off a check cord. He began showing a strong interest in retrieving a puppy bumper at seven-weeks old, and now we end our short training sessions with his reward of charging out, retrieving, and charging back full speed with a bumper.

He impresses people everywhere we go from the veterinarian to family re-unions, and has become the joy of my life. I just can't begin to thank you enough.

Sincerely,
Edward C. Stewart
